Playing Mommy & Daddy

Jordan's sister Chelsea & her husband took their little girl to Disneyland this week. So we got to watch their 11 month old baby, Jace for a couple days. He is so stinkin' cute!! We've had a lot of fun with him. It was so cute to watch Jordan with him. I put him down to bed and he started crying and Jordan got all worried. I told him it's okay to let him cry for a couple minutes. Don't worry he'll fall right asleep. And he did of course, but Jordan thought we were torturing him. And when he started getting fussy in the middle of the night, Jordan jumped right up to grab him. I had to laugh at my paranoid husband. I wonder if this is how he'll be when we have children of our own? I wouldn't mind him being the one to jump out of bed in the middle of the night, that's for sure.
Then as Jordan left for work this morning, he said, "I think we should only have nieces & nephews, cause I like it when the house is clean and I just didn't get very much sleep last night." (yeah, it's tough only getting 8 hours instead of your usual 12!! hehe I just had to laugh.) I think it'll still be quite a while till we have a munchkin of our own runnin' around here. But hey, if you have your kids trained as well as Chelsea does Jace, we'd love to play mommy & daddy again. It was pretty fun :)

The Bachelor Boycott!!

I'd like to let everyone know that I am officially boycotting the Bachelor. I can't even explain how mad I was about what happened at the finale. I know it's a just a TV show and I shouldn't be so obsessed, but I am. Jordan's sick of hearing me rant and rave. So... let's just say, that they successfully ended my Monday night Bachelor addiction!

The dreaded Potato Bug!

This morning I had a visual confirmation that Spring really is on it's way. And... it really didn't make me happy. I found 2 POTATO BUGS on my kitchen floor!!! Ahhh!!! For those of you who knew me last Spring, you know this is the worst thing in the world for me. We live in the basement and we always get infested with these sickie's. Blah!! I love Spring time, but this definitely puts a damper on it. If anyone has any ideas on how to get rid of these little buggies, I'm open to all possibilities!(I wonder if this is my punishment for capturing millions of potato bugs as a kid and torturing them in my baking soda/vinegar poison chambers. )

Loupes, Kenny, and a side of Jay-Walking

I didn't have school this Thursday or Friday because we went to the Utah Dental Convention instead. It wasn't too exciting but I did buy something I'm very excited about. A pair of loupes!!! I know, no one knows what the heck those are but here's a picture. They're glasses with microscopes in them so when you're working in the dental chair you don't have to bend over and kill your back and neck. I've been worried about my back so Jordan let me buy these. I'm super excited to try them out. (Don't you think I'll look hot in these?) Thanks Jordan, I owe you!

Speaking of owing Jordan big time... He bought me tickets to the Kenny Chesney concert yesterday! I'm sooo excited. Me and my sister McKenzie are going together. She's pretty much obsessed with Kenny, so it's going to be so fun to watch her freak out when she sees him. The concert isn't until July 23rd, but it gives me something really fun to look forward to this summer.

Don't I have a good hubby? I'm so spoiled.

Oh, and here's a random funny story. So after the Dental Convention, me and a bunch of my friends were getting off Trax to get to our car. And we just quickly ran across the street, but don't worry, we didn't get too far before a cop popped out of no where and wrote us all up for JAY-WALKING!! Seriously... who gets a ticket for Jay-walking?! Anyway... he spent the next 30 minutes writing all five of us out tickets, and then after he did he told us they were just warnings. Pretty lame, but I'm glad I didn't have to pay a $100 ticket for not crossing at the cross walk.
So... just so everyone knows, use the cross walk :)

Uh oh, it looks like trouble in the dental chair!!!

(That beautiful smile on McKenzie's face is brought to you by Shalyce the Hygienist!!)

McKenzie came up to the clinic today and I got to clean her teeth. It was so fun. She is so stinkin' cute, and I absolutely love her!!! When we finished I asked her how it was and she said it was good except for the fact that when I squirted the water in her mouth to rinse her out it went up her nose!! :) hehe (Looks like I still have a few quirks to work out). It's so fun to work on family. And I have to apologize to Kim. She came in a few weeks ago and got her teeth cleaned, and I totally forgot my camera. I know I promised I'd put her picture on the blog if she came but I failed. I guess you'll have to come up again Kim :) I have such a wonderful, supportive family!!! I don't know how I could get through school without them. It's so nice to have them close. I love you all, and am so grateful for all of you!!!

Valentine's Day

Our Valentine's Day got kicked off to a good start with a fun ward activity Friday night. It was pretty random actually. It was a Valentine's Dance for everyone in the ward 16 and up... so we went expecting the worst, but it was actually super fun. We brought our friends Staci & Evan and we had a good time pretending we were back in high school. We got our pictures taken, our caricatures drawn, ate chocolate fondue, and a fun time dancing. I love how the guy doing the caricatures was super awesome at drawing but couldn't even spell the easiest name on earth, Jordan. Gotta love those artsy kids :)

Then Saturday morning I volunteered to go up to school to be a part of the Utah Give Kids a Smile Day. It was pretty neat. We opened up the dental clinic from 8-3 and gave FREE cleanings to any child that came in the door, and then if the children needed dental work they had Dentists there to fill cavities and such. We served a lot of kids, and it was actually pretty sad. I could tell those kids hadn't been to the dentist for a super long time. They all needed a lot of dental work. It's neat to be in a profession that has so many opportunities to serve like I have.

Then for Valentine's Day night Jordan & I went out to Chinese for dinner, and then exchanged the funniest gifts ever. We had decided we weren't going to give gifts this year but we both caved so after we gave each other our mushy love cards, Jordan gave me his gift first and it was a Ute's Sugar Bowl Championship t-shirt. When I saw it I started laughing my head off. Jordan was confused cause he thought I didn't like it. I just told him to open his gift. And low and behold... it was the EXACT same shirt he had given me. We laughed the rest of the night. It's scary sometimes how much we are alike. I guess that proves that we are meant to be. Happy Valentine's Day!!!!! (I know, my eyes are closed. We were struggling taking good pictures, you should've seen the ones I didn't post!!)
